Replace 15 Zaps with one AI agent — catch any webhook, reason, and act

Automation

What is Zapier?

Zapier is the most popular iPaaS platform, connecting 6,000+ apps through simple if-this-then-that Zaps. The LunoGen Zapier integration lets you keep Zapier as your connector glue while replacing the brittle, linear Zap logic with an intelligent agent: any Zap can POST to a LunoGen webhook, the agent reads the payload, reasons about what to do, and takes action — sending WhatsApp messages, hitting other APIs, or triggering follow-up Zaps.

Why connect Zapier?

Power users end up with hundreds of Zaps and complex multi-step filters, paths, and formatters that break every time an upstream app changes. Worse, Zaps can't reason. A typo in a form input will happily flow all the way through to your CRM. LunoGen replaces the brittle middle of your Zaps with an AI agent that understands context. Instead of building 15 Zaps for 15 form variations, you write one instruction like 'if a lead comes in from any form, qualify them, DM the rep on WhatsApp, and log to HubSpot' — and the agent figures out the rest.

What you can do

  • Catch-all webhook endpoint for any Zap trigger
  • AI agent reasons over messy payloads and decides next steps
  • Replace multi-step Zaps with a single plain-language instruction
  • Trigger outbound Zaps or Webhooks by Zapier from chat
  • Handle form submissions from Typeform, Jotform, Tally, Google Forms
  • Multi-app automation chains with conditional logic
  • Error recovery: agent retries and pings a human on failure
  • Data enrichment and cleanup before it hits your CRM
  • Zap cost reduction — one agent replaces many paid Zap tasks
  • Fallback to Zapier AI actions when you want the agent to call a Zap

Setup

Requirements

  • A Zapier account (Free or paid — both work)
  • A LunoGen account with at least the Pro plan
  • Basic familiarity with Zapier's Webhooks by Zapier action
  1. 1

    Copy your LunoGen webhook URL

In LunoGen, go to Webhooks → New webhook and give it a name (e.g. 'Zapier Inbound'). Copy the generated URL.

  2. 2

Create a Zap with any trigger

In Zapier, create a Zap and pick any trigger app — Typeform, Gmail, Stripe, Shopify, anything.

  3. 3

Add Webhooks by Zapier as the action

Add a 'Webhooks by Zapier → POST' action. Paste your LunoGen webhook URL as the URL. Under Data, pass the whole trigger payload (Zapier will auto-fill fields).

  4. 4

    Test the Zap once

Run the Zap once end-to-end. LunoGen will display the raw payload in the Webhook tab so you can see exactly what the agent receives.

  5. 5

Write an instruction for the agent

In LunoGen, link the webhook to an agent and describe in plain English what should happen when a payload arrives. Example: 'Qualify this lead, DM me on WhatsApp, and create a HubSpot contact.'

Replace 15 Zaps with One Agent Instruction

Instead of building a Zap for every form variation, every app, and every edge case, give the agent one plain-language instruction and it handles the whole fan-out.

Zapier + Agent Instructionreplaceconsolidatesavings

I have 12 Zaps that all do some version of 'new lead comes in → add to HubSpot → notify sales → tag by country'. Can I replace these with one agent?

internal planning

Yes. Instead of 12 Zaps you'll have 1 webhook and 1 instruction. Here's how it looks.
