What is Google Sheets?

Google Sheets is the cloud spreadsheet used by millions of teams for reporting, tracking, and collaborative data management. The LunoGen Google Sheets integration connects your AI agent to the Sheets API v4 so it can read ranges, append rows, run formulas, update cells, and generate charts from spreadsheets — all driven from WhatsApp.

Why connect Google Sheets?

Spreadsheets are the world's universal database, but they live inside a browser tab. LunoGen brings them into WhatsApp. Log conversations automatically, ask the agent natural-language questions about your data, append expenses or leads from chat, and get visualized reports on demand — without ever opening a sheet.

What you can do

  • Append rows with Sheets API v4 values.append
  • Batch read and write across multiple ranges
  • Natural-language querying ('top 10 sales last month')
  • Automatic chart generation from sheet data
  • Named range support for stable references
  • Google Apps Script execution for custom logic
  • Conditional formatting and formula management
  • Scheduled aggregations delivered to WhatsApp
  • Real-time lookups for inventory, CRM, or OKR sheets
  • Multi-sheet and multi-tab awareness

Setup

Requirements

  • A Google account with access to the target spreadsheets
  • A Google Cloud project with the Sheets API enabled
  • A LunoGen account with at least the Pro plan
  1. 1

    Enable the Google Sheets API

In Google Cloud Console, create a project (or reuse one), then enable the Google Sheets API under APIs & Services.

  2. 2

    Connect Google in LunoGen

Open Credentials → New → Google Sheets in LunoGen and sign in with OAuth. Approve the Sheets and Drive read/write scopes.

  3. 3

    Register your default spreadsheets

Pin the spreadsheets the agent should know about (e.g. 'Leads', 'Expenses', 'Inventory') so it can resolve them by name.

  4. 4

    Define named ranges (recommended)

In each sheet, create named ranges for common queries — e.g. Sales!Revenue, Inventory!Stock. The agent uses these for stable lookups.

  5. 5

    Test with a natural-language query

Send the agent 'How many leads did we get last week from the Leads sheet?' to confirm the integration is live.
