What is Mailchimp?

Mailchimp is the world's most popular email marketing platform, powering newsletters, automations, and transactional email for over 13 million users. The LunoGen Mailchimp integration connects your AI agent to the Mailchimp Marketing API so it can manage Audiences, Campaigns, Automations, Segments, and Reports — all from WhatsApp messages, inbound webhooks, or scheduled cron jobs.

Why connect Mailchimp?

Marketers spend half their day checking campaign stats, cleaning lists, and reviewing A/B results. Founders want a one-line answer: 'did the campaign work?' With an AI agent on WhatsApp, you get real-time send notifications, subscriber growth alerts, A/B test winner announcements, and weekly engagement reports delivered right to chat — no dashboard switching, no spreadsheets.

What you can do

  • Real-time campaign send and completion notifications
  • Audience growth alerts with source breakdown
  • Trigger Mailchimp Automations from a WhatsApp message
  • Weekly engagement reports with open and click trends
  • A/B test winner announcements the moment results are stable
  • List cleaning suggestions based on unengaged subscribers
  • Segment creation and management from chat
  • Unsubscribe and bounce alerts with context
  • Tag-based workflows — apply tags to Audiences from WhatsApp
  • Webhook handling for subscribe, unsubscribe, and campaign events

Setup

Requirements

  • A Mailchimp account (Free or any paid plan)
  • Admin access to create an API key
  • A LunoGen account with at least the Pro plan
  1. 1

In LunoGen → Credentials → New → Mailchimp. Paste the API key and server prefix, then test the connection.

  4. 4

    Configure webhooks (optional)

In Mailchimp, open any Audience → Settings → Webhooks → Create New Webhook. Point it to your LunoGen webhook URL and subscribe to events like subscribe, unsubscribe, campaign.
